When I’m trying to remember my dreams, and repeating a dream mantra at night to tell my brain not to forget, I remember a few a week. Back in 2012 - 2014 I was actively practicing remembering my dreams, and trained myself to wake up, and write them down. There were periods of time I was writing down 3-4 dreams a night. Then would go weeks without remembering one, until another cluster of dreams would come through.
I haven’t been focused on dreaming for a few years and now I only remember and write down 1-2 dreams every month or two. Pretty fascinating!
I know, it's hard to actually wake up enough to write the dream down, without waking up so much that you forget the dream entirely! Dreams can be so personal, I totally understand only sharing them with your close ones. If ever a dream comes through this community could benefit from, laugh with, cry with, or scratch their heads with, feel free to email me a copy of it or just post it here among the comments. Thanks for being here :)
You've inspired me to start writing my dreams down again. One night I had two really vivid dreams that I turned into two pieces of microfiction. One--the darker, more twisted on, ended up getting curated on Medium, which was cool. Then I saw it was curated in the Comics category, which was odd.
I remember a few dreams each night, but NEVER write them down. Often I share my dreams with my spouse.
